An interactive session with Gwadar Bar Association
An IPS delegation visiting Gwadar for a two-day media conclave and conference, visited Gwadar Bar Association (GBA) at the District and Session Court, Gwadar on May 20, 2022, and had a perceptive discussion with its members over different matters of common interests.
The representatives of Gwadar Bar Association were headed by Meraj Ali Advocate, general secretary, GBA, whereas the IPS delegation comprised Chairman IPS Khalid Rahman, General Manager Operations Naufil Shahrukh and Research Officer Muhammad Wali Faroooqi.
During the interactive session, the lawyers from Gwadar Bar Association praised IPS initiative saying that this is the first time that any think tank from the capital made an official visit to the bar. They also threw light on a myriad of issues faced by the people of Gwadar especially in the areas like health, education, technical skills, electricity provision, etc. They suggested that Policy think tanks like IPS should take up these issues with the higher authorities in order to get them resolved.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahman thanked the bar for sharing the problems of locals, stating that the dream of the development of the port of Gwadar must be backed by the uplift and resolution of the issues faced by local communities.
Chairman IPS also formally launched recent IPS Press publication Balochistan ki Surat–e-Haal: Masayel ki Nauiyat, Asbab aur Hal on the occasion. Several copies of the said publication were also distributed among the bar members.
