Seminar | Pakistan’s Political System and Governance
There’s a plethora of literature on the governance deficit in Pakistan due to the complexities of its post-colonial character, which is yet to be reformed and developed in line – in the true sense – with the spirit of the Constitution of 1973, which provides the framework for an Islamic, Democratic, Federal, Parliamentary, Welfare state model for the nation of more than 230 million people at present.
At IPS, it has been our considered opinion, and we have reiterated it a number of times that Pakistan can only progress successfully if its governance is based on the constitutional principles of policy and its directives that are a guiding light in day to day affairs for all the organs of the state. However, the realities of our political and governance system are far from the ideals given in the Constitution.
It is in this light that Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) – in collaboration with Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) – is organizing a seminar titled ‘𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞’ on November 03, 2022 (Thursday) at 10:00 am at IPS Seminar Hall (1, 𝑀𝑃𝐶𝐻𝑆 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙, 𝐸-11/3, 𝐼𝑠𝑙𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑏𝑎𝑑).
