IPS represented in a seminar on laws and policies for older people in Pakistan
On behalf of IPS, its junior research officer Maryam Ihsan participated at in a session on ‘Policy Analysis and Advocacy’, organized by the Secretariat of the Older People Rights Network (OPRN), in collaboration with HelpAge International on July 25, 2024.
The purpose of the event was to finalize the Rules of Business (ROBs) and allocate funds under the Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizen Act, 2021. The event was attended by key stakeholders, including civil society organizations, senior citizens, and policy experts, gathered to discuss gaps in current services and draft actionable recommendations for future advocacy.
Maryam Ihsan delivered a detailed presentation on the occasion on the current policies and laws related to older people in Pakistan.
