Lecture Series | Islamic Economics: The Polar Opposite of Capitalist Economics
Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad is holding a lecture series on the book titled ‘Islamic Economics: The Polar Opposite of Capitalist Economics’, authored by Professor Dr Asad Zaman, former Vice Chancellor, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE).
The series comprising seven lectures – two and half hours long each – will commence from August 17, 2024 (Saturday), at 11:15 AM (PKT), with a lecture being held every Saturday on the same time.

About the speaker:
Professor Dr. Asad Zaman (PhD Economics from Stanford University, USA), former Vice Chancellor, PIDE, also remained a member of Monetary Policy Committee of SBP, and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. His book ‘Statistical Foundations of Econometric Techniques’ is widely used as a reference in advanced graduate courses. He is the managing editor of ‘International Econometric Review ‘and on the board of editors of many international journals. His research on Islamic economics is widely cited as he has been highly influential in shaping the field.
