Success is not about personal milestones but lifting others: Lecture Series on ‘Kamyab Zindagi’

Success is not just about reaching personal milestones; it’s about embracing the collective responsibility of lifting others. True achievement lies in contributing to the betterment of society, where individual goals are aligned with the well-being of the community. Serving others leads to collective achievement and creates a ripple effect of positive change throughout the community.

This was the crux of a lecture series on Kamyab Zindagi (Successful Life) – based on a series of books with similar title, authored by Khalid Rahman, chairman IPS, and published by IPS Press – the publishing and bookselling arm of IPS. The series was organized by IPS in collaboration with Youth Association Pakistan (YAP), across various schools in Islamabad to engage students in thought-provoking discussions on achieving a successful and meaningful life.

The sessions held on August 08, 09, and 13, featured Khalid Rahman, Dr Ikram-ul-Haq, IPS research associate, and Abdul Qadir, founding chairman, Youth Association of Pakistan. The lectures took place at specific branches of Modern Languages School, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) School, and Allied School respectively. The series, aimed at middle and high school students, focused on inspiring young minds to pursue a life of purpose, balance, and success, both in individual and collective capacities.

The ‘Kamyab Zindagi’ lecture series was designed to guide students toward leading purposeful lives that emphasize not just academic or professional success, but also personal growth, moral integrity, and social responsibility. The speakers highlighted key principles such as gratitude, patience, determination, and positive thinking, encouraging students to face life’s challenges with resilience and a constructive mindset. The lectures also underscored the duty of Muslims to benefit society through continuous self-improvement.

In each session, students were actively involved through interactive discussions and Q&A segments. The speakers emphasized the importance of balancing personal ambitions with values that benefit society, advocating for success that is not just personal but collective. Drawing from personal experiences, real-life examples, and Islamic teachings, the sessions provided the students with practical advice on how to overcome obstacles and lead fulfilling lives.

The event series also featured book distributions, where the book Kamyab Zindagi was gifted to the schools and students, further enriching the students’ learning resources. The sessions concluded with enthusiastic feedback from the students, who appreciated the interactive and engaging format of the discussions.
