Pakistan must continue to evolve counterterrorism strategies to address emerging threats: VC-IPS

IPS’ Vice Chairman Ambassador (r) Syed Abrar Hussain was invited to speak at the international seminar ‘Pakistan’s Role in Counter Terrorism: Promoting Peace and Stability’, organized by Institute for Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis (ISSRA), National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad, on January 29-30, 2025.

Addressing the event, VC-IPS highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism. He stressed that while country has made significant progress in combating terrorrism, it must remain agile and continue to adapt its counterterrorism strategies to addess evolving global threats, particularly new challenges posed by the use of advanced technologies, such as the use of drones, cyber attacks, as well as the increasing spread of extremist ideologies through online platforms. He underscored the significance of a comprehensive, multifaceted, proactive approach to safeguard national security, and ensuring a resilient response to such emerging threats.
