10-Day #PIDW2015 concludes with a message of value-based professional excellence
An inspiring panel discussion on professional and personal excellence based on values and ethics marked the conclusion of #PIDW2015 – a 10-day Personal and Institutional Development Workshop by IPS LEAD – the Learning, Excellence and Development Program of Institute of Policy Studies, Islamabad (www.ips.org.pk) – which was held from January 29 to February 10, 2015 and attended by more than a 100 young professionals from across the twin cities.
The panelists of the discussion themed ‘Apna Muqam Paida Kar’ included senior professionals like Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Vice Chancellor, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, Sardar Khalid Mahmood, Director, HR and Learning Centre, Mobilink, and Khalid Rahman, Director General, Institute of Policy Studies (IPS). It was moderated by renowned trainer and TV host Yasir Masood Afaq and youth trainer Nisar Moosa.
The discussion saw the successful professionals sharing insights into their rich and invaluable life experiences, including the way they faced various challenges in personal and professional lives while keeping their integrity and values intact.
The workshop, organized with the prime objective to impart leadership, soft skills and personality development training to young professionals and fresh graduates, featured several professional trainers and mentors – including Basheer Juma, Partner, Ernst & Youngs (Pakistan and Afghanistan), Khalid Rahman, DG-IPS, Wahaj us Siraj, CEO, NayaTel (Pvt) Ltd, Rafatullah Khan, Registrar, Riphah International University, Abdul Samad, CEO, Youth Impact, Yasir Masood Afaq, CEO, MymaCom, Syed Hassan Aftab, Additional Director HR, International Islamic University, Islamabad, and other renowned trainers like Farooq Sufi, Nabeel Imtiaz, Nisar Moosa, and Haris Mahmood.
The trainees termed the experience as ‘life augmenting’, especially praising the unique delivery of leadership and personal development content with an ethical and value-based perspective. The workshop, they said, has inspired them to lead a professional life that is based on moral values.
It would be pertinent to mention here that the training program organized by IPS LEAD was supported by World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY). The other partner organizations involved in its planning and execution included Youth Impact and MYMACOM. Pakistan Tribe was the digital media partner for the event.
