IPS represented in China conference ‘Exploring Cooperation across Himalayas’
DG-IPS Khalid Rahman participated in a three day international conference titled ‘Exploring Cooperation across Himalayas: The Fifth China-South Asia Cultural Forum’ held from December 12-15, 2015 in Chengdu, China.
The conference, which was co-organized by ISAS (Institute of South Asian Studies), Collaborative Innovation Center for Security and Development of West Frontier China, Sichuan University (CWF) and Chengdu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, was addressed by some 50 delegates from different research and academic institutions of Pakistan and China.
DG-IPS made a key note speech on the occasion titled ‘Cooperation Crossing Himalayas: Significance, Areas of Concern and the Way Forward’ in which he signified the importance of establishing mental connectivity among countries geographically linked with the ventures of Maritime Silk Road and One Belt One Road (OBOR) in order to further the worthy initiatives, which ultimately will benefit all the stakeholders. Rahman also chaired one of the sessions during the conference.
