Zahoor Ahmad Swati
Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Swati is the serving vice chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Peshawar. Earlier he has served the university for over three decades in the roles of dean, director, professor, associate professor, assistant professor and lecturer. He was also associated with University of Tuscia, Viterbo, Italy, in the Department of Agrobiology and Agro-chemistry as a post-doctoral fellow in 1993-94.
A Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics from South Dakota State University, Brooking, USA, he is a recipient of several academic honors and awards including Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2013, R&D Effort Award in 2012, Productive Scientist Award in 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2012, Presidential Award ‘Izaz-e-Fazeelat’ in 2005 and the recognition as a distinguished scientist in 2004.
Possessing a very rich academic and administrative experience, he has also been a member of various national and international institutions and has a long list of published research work and insightful studies to his credit. He has also supervised and co-supervised a number of dissertations of Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.Sc. students.
