IPS signs MoU with National Institute of Maritime Affairs
A memorendum of understanding was penned down between Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad and National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) on November 1, 2018 to carry out joint research over maritime and other multi-disciplinary issues.
The MoU – which was signed by Rear Admiral (r) Mukhtar Khan HI(M), director general, NIMA and Khalid Rahman, director general, IPS – will pave way for collaboration between the two institutions for joint research and organization of seminars, conferences and roundtables in the areas of maritime affairs.
IPS (est. 1979) is the oldest autonomous, not-for-profit think tank of Pakistan that provides a forum for policy research and dialogue on national and international issues. NIMA (est. 2017) is a think-tank of maritime policy research in Bahria University which also works as a facilitator for stakeholders of maritime sector. The mandate of NIMA includes multi-disciplinary research & analysis of maritime affairs for policy level input to Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Navy.
