Dr Akis’ lecture on US policies at RIPP
A lecture by US academic Dr Akis Kalaitzidis on US policies was arranged by IPS at the Riphah Institute of Public Policy (RIPP) on February 20, 2019.
The renowned scholar is the author of US Foreign Policy: A Documentary and Reference Guide, and a professor of political science at the Department of Government, International Studies and Languages, University of Central Missouri, USA.
The professor delivered a lecture on the topic of ‘US Policies Towards South-Asia After Post-Cold War’, in which he talked about the recent policies of US particularly for Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Referring to Afghanistan as a graveyard for the US and its allies, the speaker said that the US was now left with no choice but to leave the country. The speaker also shed light on the growing relations of India and the US, maintaining that the bond between the likeminded Trump and Modi could become problematic for Pakistan.
