IPS facilitates PMSA on academic outreach
Role and functions of PMSA discussed
On the invitation of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), an IPS team comprising its GM Operations Naufil Shahrukh and Non-Resident Fellow Dr Maliha Zeba Khan from National University of Modern Languages (NUML) attended via video link a consultative session on March 3, 2021 to discuss the role and function of PMSA.
Delegations from University of Karachi (UoK) and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST led by Samina Qureshi, assistant professor, mass communications department, and Dr Faisal Javaid, assistant professor, international relations department, respectively, were also present on the occasion at PMSA headquarters.
Deputy Director General PMSA Cdr Muhammad Faisal Sadiq told the participants that PMSA will continue to play its role in countering widespread maritime blindness prevailing in the country. For this, joining hands with academia and research organizations was inevitable, he stressed, and PMSA wishes to extend to them full support and cooperation to promote Maritime awareness within the country.
Earlier, Lt Muhammad Jameel PN (Staff Officer Operations) delivered a presentation titled ‘Role, Function and Organization of PMSA’ to brief about the role and responsibilities of the organization. Later, the delegations called on Cdr Muhammad Faisal Sadiq and discussed matters pertaining to research in maritime domain.
