CCCWS delegation visits IPS
A delegation of the China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCCWS), Beijing, lead by its deputy director, Dr Hu Hao visited the Institute of Policy Studies, Islamabad
The delegation comprising CCCWS faculty held a meeting with the research team of IPS and discussed a number of issues of common interest and concern including withdrawal of US and allied forces from Afghanistan, post-2014 scenario, role of United Nations and other international bodies, Middle East and situation in South Asia.
It was felt that the people of China and Pakistan needed to build upon their warm relationship and know each other through direct contacts and interactions so that their perceptions and knowledge about each other is not formed through Western media.
Finding themselves on the same page on a number of regional and international issues, both the institutions agreed to establish frequent and active contact which, in the words of DG-IPS Khalid Rahman, would lead to actualizing the mutually shared vision of a harmonious, just and peaceful world.
