CPEC Energy Projects: The Regulatory and Financial Aspects

CPEC has come at a time when Pakistan was facing serious energy supply insecurity challenges. While inking any power deals however, NEPRA should maintain its autonomy by considering revised petitions for tariff readjustment in accordance with market shifts. Safeguarding power customers’ interest should remain the top priority of the government, whereas efforts should also be made for sustained improvements in bridging the perennial problem of circular debt.
