Current series of violence in Pakistan

Introduction

The first week of December 2009 was unfortunate for the people of Pakistan, for it brought much misery and pain, due to the rise in the incidents of terrorism in major cities of Pakistan. A number of innocent people lost their lives in the suicide bombings which targeted the mosques and markets, besides the government institutions. On one side, these incidents are raising the sense of insecurity among people, and the on the other side, questions are being raised about the invisible forces and their motives which are responsible for bringing such instability in the country. Also the people want some way out of this situation.  The comments based on the interviews, delivered to the Dubai TV and the Radio Islam, South Africa, by the Director General of Institute of Policy Studies, Islamabad (IPS) on December 08, 2009 provide an insight into the contemporary situation.
