Delegation of development practitioners and government officials
A delegation of development practitioners and government officials visited IPS on April 10, 2014 to have an insight on the policy research work of IPS and its contribution in the national policy matters. The delegates were participants of course on Poverty Alleviation at the AHK-NCRD (Akhtar Hameed Khan -National Centre for Rural Development), Islamabad.
The participants, who represented different areas of Pakistan, were briefed by IPS Lead Coordinator Irfan Shahzad about the mission and vision of IPS. The presentation was followed by healthy discussion on various issues concerning the development sector of the country. The participants also showed keen interest in the huge reservoir of books at IPS and discussed how they can benefit from this literary and academic treasure.
The session, which was chaired by DG-IPS Khalid Rahman, also discussed the ways with which IPS and the organizations represented by the participants can benefit from each other’s endeavors in the areas of mutual concerns e.g. advocacy, education, training, etc.
