Delegation from Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences (YASS)

A six-member Chinese delegation from Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences (YASS) visited IPS on September 19, 2019.
The delegation, which was headed by Shen Xiangxing, president, YASS, discussed various matters of shared interests with the Institute’s team which comprised EP-IPS Khalid Rahman, GM Operations Naufil Shahrukh, and the members of the Institute’s research faculty.
The discussion majorly revolved around mutually concerning issues such as evolving regional dynamics, Kashmir crisis and the failed peace process in Afghanistan.
Speaking of CPEC, It was mutually stressed that transparency, as well as expectation management, must be included as an integral part of all CPEC ventures to ensure their smooth progress.
The need was also underscored to increase bilateral cooperation between the two countries by means of enhancing people-to-people connections.
