Forced conversion, other contemporary issues discussed at Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia
An IPS delegation comprising the Institute’s Chairman Khalid Rahman, Vice Chairman Ambassador (r) Syed Abrar Hussain, Senior Research Officer Syed Nadeem Farhat and Assistant Research Officer Osama Hameed visited Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia (Binoria University International) in Karachi on November 23, 2021 and contemplated with the Jamia’s officials over various matters of shared concerns.
In a meeting with the Jamia’s mohtamim Maulana Nauman Naeem, the delegates had an in-depth discussion on several contemporary issues, most notably over the much-hyped issue of forced conversions in Pakistan and the implications of the malicious campaign being run against the country to malign its name.
Naeem dubbed the assertion of forced conversion on mass scale in Pakistan as mere fiction and a propaganda that is hatched only to tarnish the country’s image globally. He argued that when Islam does not allow coercion in its daily affairs, then how can it tolerate, let alone permit, forced conversions in its name?
Naeem also lauded the research endeavors undertaken by IPS in this regard, maintaining that the Institute’s effort to conduct such a detailed study on such an important topic will go a long way in rectifying concerning stats and revealing complex ground realities associated with the issue.
Rahman reaffirmed on the occasion that IPS, being an applied research Institute, will continue to conduct authentic and unbiased studies concerning issues surrounding the country and its society.
The delegates also visited foreign affairs and other departments of the Jamia and had candid discussions with the Jamia’s officials on miscellaneous matters of mutual interest.
