IPS co-hosts international conference on ‘Peace and Security in South and Central Asia’
An international conference on ‘Peace and Security in South and Central Asia’ was co-hosted by IPS with Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, on September 23, 2016.
The event, whose inaugural session was attended by the President of Pakistan as a chief guest, gathered a sizeable number of researchers, academia, officials and practitioners from Pakistan and abroad.
IPS’ assistant research coordinator Fehmeeda Khalid presented a paper on the occasion titled ‘Russian Influence over Central Asia: Evolution and Prospects’, which was co-authored by IPS’ lead coordinator Irfan Shahzad, who earlier represented the Institute in the inaugural session of the academic event along with team members Fatima Habib and Waqar-un-Nisa.
IPS will also publish the proceedings of the conference in a special issue of its flagship journal Policy Perspectives.
