IPS delegation visits Islamic Research Academy – Karachi; contemplate on mutually concerning issues
Led by IPS’ Vice Chairman Ambassador (r) Syed Abrar Hussain, an IPS delegation visiting Karachi was invited by Islamic Research Academy – Karachi (IRAK) on November 27, 2021 to exchange views on issues of shared concerns.
The visiting team, also comprising the Institute’s Senior Research Officer Syed Nadeem Farhat and Research Officer Hafiza Usama Hameed, was received on the occasion by the IRAK team which was headed by the Academy’s Deputy Director Ali Hussain.
The IPS team apprised the hosts about its research and academic activities including some recent initiatives and endeavors. The interactive discussion that followed encompassed a myriad of mutually concerning issues including the present and evolving situation in Afghanistan and the impact of these developments on the region, the much-publicized issue of forced faith conversion in Sindh in light of the recent IPS study on the topic, religious education and other topics of joint interests such as Pakistan’s foreign policy, governance and economy.
