IPS-GIZ discuss distributed generation based Net-Metering in Pakistan
A team of IPS Energy, Water and Climate Change program visited GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit on December 3, 2020 and held an interactive discussion on its recent study ‘Barriers and Drivers of Solar Prosumage: A Case Study of Pakistan’.
On behalf of GIZ, the discussion was attended by their technical advisors Muhammad Saeed and Asif Fareed whereas the visiting delegation from IPS comprised GM-IPS Naufil Shahrukh, Naila Saleh, Sara and Hamza Naeem.
Delivering a presentation on its study, IPS team imparted the outcomes and insights of its work on distributed generation appraisal in Pakistan, also shedding light on the obstacles, current progress, and its proposed roadmap for the future.
The GIZ representatives appreciated the work done by IPS including the depth of its research, methodology, as well as the suggestions and recommendations put forth in the presentation.
The discussants also exchanged views on the growth of distributed generation based net metering in Pakistan and agreed to collaborate with each other in a bid to ramp up the share of renewable energy in the country.
