IPS LEAD partners with Youth Impact in ‘Markhor 2018’
IPS LEAD (the Learning, Excellence and Development Program of IPS) was one of the main partners of Youth Impact – a youth-focused training and leadership development organization – to produce Markhor 2018 – its annual wilderness-based youth leadership conference, which was held at Mukshpuri top in Nathiagali from September 6-9, 2018 this year.
The three-day conference was attended by 67 young social leaders representing 43 universities and 23 districts of Pakistan. The conference was also participated by several senior professionals from civil-society and corporate sector, who as mentors, aimed at instilling leadership qualities in young attendees.
DG-IPS Khalid Rahman and IPS’ GM Operations Naufil Shahrukh participated in the conference on behalf of IPS LEAD and conducted sessions on the topics of ‘War of Narratives’ and ‘Citizen Journalism’ respectively. While Rahman’s lecture informed the participants how the techniques of propagation and perception management were being used as a modern tool of warfare, the lecture by Shahrukh imparted skills and tools for youth leaders to excel as change activists and create social impact using various forms of citizen journalism.
