IPS represented in consultative meeting on education in Kabul
On the invitation of Afghanistan’s ministry of education, DG-IPS Khalid Rahman participated in a three-day ‘National Consultation with International Experts on Importance of Education from Islamic Point of View’ in Kabul on December 16-18, 2013.
The event was attended by more than 700 delegates from across Afghanistan.
From Pakistan, Dr Fakhar-ul-Islam, member IPS-National Academic Council and Director of Pakistan Study Centre, University of Peshawar, and Mairaj-un-Nabi, a prominent educationist from Peshawar were also invited.
Prof. Akhtar-ul-Wasey, and Dr. Farida Khanum, from Jamia Millia Islamia, India, were also among the international delegates in the conference.
DG-IPS Khalid Rahman delivered a presentation on “Education and Development – An Islamic Perspective” on the occasion. He was also requested to head the committee, which drafted the declaration of the meeting. The declaration was presented on the second day of the meeting in the presence of the chief guest, Ghulam Farooq Wardak, Afghanistan’s Education Minister.
DG-IPS along with other international delegates also visited the provinces of Logar and Panjsher during his one-week stay in Afghanistan.
