IPS represented in int’l conference in Kazakhstan
Irfan Shahzad, research fellow at IPS, participated in an international conference titled “Internal and External Migrations in Central Asia”. The conference was jointly organized by National Analytical Center (NAC), Nazarbayev University (NU), and George Washington University of the US at NU in Astana, Kazakhstan, on September 28-29, 2017.
Shahzad presented his under-preparation paper “Central Asian Migrants in the United Arab Emirates: Fostering the Foundations of Faith? – An Initial Inquiry” in the conference.
While in Astana, he also visited Eurasian National University’s (ENU) International Relations faculty, held a meeting with the dean of the faculty Dr Akbota Zholdasbekova and delivered a talk on ‘Significance of International Relations’ Education’ to a batch of newly-joining students. Apart from all that, the IPS’ research fellow had another useful meeting with Iskandar Akylbayev, the executive director of the newly created Kazakhstan Council for International Relations.
