Journalistic void left by Dr Ijaz Qureshi, Saud Sahir: Prof Khurshid Ahmad

Expressing deep sorrow over the recent demise of eminent
journalists Dr Ijaz Hassan Qureshi and Saud Sahir, former Senator and Chairman
of Institute of Policy Studies Professor Khurshid Ahmad has extended his
sympathies to their families while praying to Almighty Allah to grant their
souls the highest ranks of Jannah.

In heartfelt condolence messages issued on November 4, 2020,
Professor Khurshid lauded the late scholars for their invaluable services and
contributions to the field of journalism while maintaining that the void left
by their departure will be difficult to fill.

It is pertinent to mention that Dr Ijaz Qureshi, the chairman of
monthly magazine Urdu Digest, founder of Karwan-e-Ilm Foundation, an activist
of Pakistan Movement and the younger brother of renowned journalist Altaf
Hassan Qureshi, passed away on Monday aged 92, whereas Saud Sahir, who served
on various prominent positions during his illustrious journalistic career,
breathed his last on Tuesday.
