No room for bitterness between Pakistan and Afghanistan, focus on commonalities desired: Amb Abrar

Vice Chairman IPS Ambassador (r) Syed Abrar Hussain addressed a seminar titled ‘Security Paradigm and Rising Tensions: Pak-Afghan Relations and Election Integrity’, organized by Riphah International University (RIU) and ESAR Trust on July 25, 2024, as part of its Dream Pakistan seminar series.

Ambassador Abrar said that Afghanistan is an important country for Pakistan, and in view of this, there is no room for tension and bitterness between the two countries. Our commonalities are far more important than our differences, they need to be highlighted. We must jointly tackle the problem of terrorism.

A great opportunity has arisen in Afghanistan after forty years, he said, which the countries of the region, especially Pakistan, should take advantage of. We should give priority to trade, investment and economic relations, as the completion of such regional projects is in the interest of the entire region.
