Orientation session for volunteers
An orientation session of fifteen volunteering students from Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad – was held at IPS on February 22, 2022 as part of a collaborative venture between the Institute’s Volunteers program and CUST’s Volunteers in Service (VIS) program. The initiative was aimed at engaging young students from the University, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence by getting involved in a variety of research and academic activities in a professional environment.
The volunteering students were given a formal introduction to IPS by the Institute’s GM Operations Naufil Shahrukh and Senior Research Officer Syed Nadeem Farhat, who delivered a presentation highlighting different activities of IPS as well as the role and significance of a research institution like IPS in a modern-day policy development environment.
A lecture on volunteerism was also delivered on the occasion by Chairman IPS Khalid Rahman, who enlightened the students about the essence, importance and impact of volunteerism in a society, while apprising how they can render their volunteering services within the ambit of their relevant fields.
