Presentation at CII on Zakat, Ushr and Livestock calculators
Dr Salman Ahmad Shaikh, the principal investigator for Islamic Social Finance for Social Protection study at IPS, visited Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on July 20, 2022 and delivered a presentation to the Institution’s research wing on calculators for Zakat, Ushr and livestock in Pakistan.
CII was represented in the meeting by its chairman Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz, secretary Dr Ikram ul Haq, and research faculty, whereas Dr Shaikh was accompanied by Wali Farooqi, research officer at IPS.
The main purpose of this presentation was to take feedback from Islamic research scholars of the state institution on the three different calculators. The calculators will be finalized after having detailed feedback from the Institution from Shari’ah perspective.
