Religious Content in Single National Curriculum and Suddle Commission’s Report
Government of Pakistan is going to launch the first phase of its Single National Curriculum for all regions and social classes of the country. But at the same time, a One-Member Commission set up by the Supreme Court of Pakistan has raised objections on the presence of Islamic contents in the textbooks of English, Urdu and General Knowledge. It has suggested moving such contents to the subject of Islamic Studies. This brief, after analyzing objections of the Commission, proposes practical suggestions in this regard.
