The 90s has been a ‘lost’ decade for Pakistan’s economy, being surrounded in the gathering storm of debilitating crises. The demand of the time was then to work out some reform plan in order to come out of that grim situation. The study conducted by Professor Syed Nawab Haider Naqvi, a senior economist, the Sitara-i-Imtiaz holder (1991) and ECO Award winner (1992), provides both diagnosis and prescription in this regard. It is characterized by analytical rigor along with realism, clarity and precision. An effort has been made in this study to point out the direction that may lead to growth with justice and well-being for all.
