The Living Scripts | Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi (Former Federal Secretary)
The twenty-fourth session of IPS series of programs ‘The Living Scripts’ with Former Federal Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi was held across split sittings on July 2 and 30, 2021.
Qureshi started off from his family history, apprising the audience that he hailed from an educated family of Dera Ismail Khan where both his father and grandfather remained associated with the education department.
Speaking of his own education, the former federal secretary said that he did his elementary schooling from his hometown but later moved to Peshawar for higher education. There he completed his matriculation and intermediate from Edwards College, Peshawar, and then got admission in Christian College, Lahore.
Qureshi joined civil services of Pakistan in 1972 after succeeding in the competitive examination, and went on to undertake the responsibilities as Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner, and Provincial Secretary of several departments including Additional Chief Secretary (Development) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The speaker credited his success to his father who motivated him to study books apart from his designated syllabus, which in his opinion, helped him a lot in practical life.
