The Living Scripts | Masud Mufti (Civil Service of Pakistan)
The eleventh session of IPS’ series ‘The Living Scripts’ was held with Masud Mufti, a former civil servant (Civil Service of Pakistan), intellectual and author, on February 28, 2020.
Mufti shared several anecdotes of his professional life with the audience, specially emphasizing on the earlier stages of his civil services career where he was able to overcome difficult situation on the back of his determination and persistent hard work.
He also reflected on the difficult time he had to endure for over a year when he was kept as a prisoner of war in India following the fall of Dhaka, as he was serving in East Pakistan at that time.
The speaker also shared his take on various national issues, terming the lack of quality education as the main reason why the country was not able to realize its true potential in various disciplines.
It is pertinent to mention that Mufti, who retired from the civil services in 1994, was awarded with the ‘Pride of Performance’ by the president of Pakistan in 2009.
